LEVEL 2:
COVER REDESIGN

OBJECTIVE:
Students will recreate a cover/poster for their favorite book, movie, TV show, etc.

THOUGHTS TO GET YOU STARTED:
  1. What is the main event in the story? How can you show that?
  2. Who are the most important characters in the story? How can you show that?
  3. What colors and what type of mark-making would best fit the mood of this story?
  4. Is there a specific style of art (realism, cartoon, gothic, graphic, etc.)  that would complement this story best?
  5. Is there a specific media (paint, digital, drawing, markers, printmaking, etc.) that would complement this story best? Why?

TIPS:
Choose an compositional element to guide your art making, such as leading lines, diagonals, rule of thirds, symmetry, etc. Also, choose a principle of design/art to focus your work, such as emphasis, pattern, movement, space/scale, etc.

RUBRIC:
You will be graded using the 2D Art Rubric.
