PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Re-create an image by drawing it upside down. The image must incorporate foreshortening. Create an original background and color the figure however you see fit. 

REQUIREMENTS
Prep (5 points):
  1. Right-side up: Spend 10 minutes drawing the image rightside up. Date your drawing and keep it in your folder- 5 points.

Drawing (70 points):​
  1. Upside down: Draw the image entirely upside down - 10 points
  2. Proportions: Proportions, scale, and details are correctly drawn and placed - 30 points
  3. Craftsmanship: Final work is neat - 10 points
  4. Color: Image is carefully colored. Colors make sense and are well blended - 10 points
  5. Background: Background is original and contrasts well with the figure - 10 points

Effort (20 points):
The student took time to develop their ideas fully.  Many new techniques were tried. The student made excellent use of class time - 20 points (10 or 5 points for lesser effort)

ADVICE FROM STUDENTS
  1. "At first I was pretty hesitant to start this project because I hadn't done art since middle school, but it taught me that everything can be broken down to simple shapes."
  2. "I learned how to draw a complex object by looking at it in parts, in other words, covering up the picture and focusing on one small part at a time."
