ADVICE FROM STUDENTS
- “During this project I used many resources, but the most helpful one was definitely YouTube. I also looked at pictures of trees for inspiration and even asked my friends and Ms. B for advice at times. I would also hold it up at a distance and my friends would comment on it.”
- “One tip that was very useful to me was shading as much as possible. I shaded my trees, sky, bark and character's hair to go from light to dark. It really makes a difference. My drawing looked so much better. A tip I would give someone doing this project for the first time is to treat letters as objects/shapes. I did this with my title. By measuring them it will look even.”
- “I used pictures and help from peers as resources. It's really useful to have other people's suggestions besides your own. I would use both resources again.”
- “I took advice from my peers to see what they thought. It was very helpful.”
- “I found it helpful to use other objects in the picture to scale things. I would tell people to always make sure things are the right size.”
- “I used drawings from the Internet and pictures from the movie to get more details. I also asked people around me what I could add to make the picture better.”
- “Techniques that I found extremely helpful for this project were spacing and starting with basic shapes. A tip I would give someone is to always know the space you should have to work with for each piece of your drawing and to always start with a simple circle or whatever the basic shape of your object is and work from there.”
